Dear Sir,

As arranged at the interview which the writer had with you last week, we are forwarding to you today from our Works for favour of transmission to your Experimental Department at Derby, two of our "P" type strainers, together with a duplicate set of our descriptive pamphlets, the smaller of which relates to our Auto-Klean strainers for automobiles, motor launches and aircraft engines and the larger to the strainers which we manufacture for use in marine and land plant generally. One of the strainers which we are sending you is a brass casting with phosphor bronze interior plates and blades similar to the aluminium one which the writer showed you. The other is an aluminium casting and the internal construction is of a different design viz. our special plate to plate construction. In the case of the brass strainer which is of the ordinary Auto-Klean construction, the straining spaces are equivalent to 160 gauze mesh and in the case of the other strainer with the plate to plate construction, the straining is finer than any gauze. The internal parts are made of specially selected materials and there need be no fear of corrosion.

It is possible with slight modification to adapt the first of the above constructions to the straining of lubricating oil and we shall be pleased to discuss this matter with any of your experts either in London or Derby, if required and to submit drawings, as it might be necessary to get out a special design to fit in with the particular requirements and construction of the Rolls-Royce engine design. We shall be pleased to give you any other information in the matter, which you may require. As mentioned to you, the London General Omnibus Company have ordered a number of these strainers from us during the last three months for use on some of their buses and we understand they are giving every satisfaction.

Thanking you in anticipation for arranging to forward the above to Derby and hoping to hear that your Experimental Department are interested in the proposition, we are,

Yours faithfully,
For and on behalf of
AUTO-KLEAN STRAINERS LTD.
