EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT.

Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards}9/JH.

22nd. August, 1939.

Messrs. Ferodo Ltd.,
Chapel-en-le-Frith.

For the attention of Mr. Shilton.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of the 21st. ult and must apologise for not replying earlier. Unfortunately holidays have intervened and the matter has been delayed.

We have tried the B.155 belts left by Mr. Sutcliffe and find these about .500" too short on the internal circumference. Our Mr. Simpson will probably be communicating with you regarding this.

We hope that the dynamo and pulley proved satisfactory and that you have managed to rig up a triangulated drive without any trouble. We should be very interested to hear how the job is progressing and whether we can supply you with any other pieces which would help things on. We should also like to see the rig on completion, and compare results with our own tests.

Yours faithfully,
FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
