With reference to your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth.6/JH.12.9.36, we send you herewith our views on this matter:- (1) Obviously this scheme will mean that we will take two bites at this Job, where only one has been taken up to the present, and thereby some extra cost will be incurred. (2) We would welcome such a model piece as is suggested, if only to prove that, given a perfect driven plate the fingers can be set accurately, but as the model driven plate must be replaced by a known inaccurate production plate, we cannot see how the condition that is conductive to 'jaggering' can be eliminated by a model.
