SALES DIRECTOR'S OFFICE. 18th May 1933. Messrs. Rolls Royce Ld, DERBY. "Attention of Mr.H.E.West" Dear Sirs, ELECTRIC PETROL GAUGE The writer hastens to acknowledge receipt of yours of yesterday's date Ref: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.6/MA, and regrets to learn that you have experienced two failures of these instruments on experimental cars, one on account of punctured float and the other through a distorted spindle. Our records indicate that service under the heading of "punctured floats" is almost unknown, but we will arrange to specially test all future supplies of floats in order to safeguard your interests in this direction. As regards the distorted spindle, we can only conclude that this item was damaged in transit and perhaps in future you will very kindly return any similar material. Meantime, we note that the latter gauge has been returned and immediately upon receipt we will have it rectified and despatch to you within a few hours. Yours faithfully, For S.SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES) Ld. [Signature] SALES DIRECTOR | ||
