Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}2/AP.11.11.36. REPORT ON POSITION OF WORK CARRIED OUT WITH REGARD TO COMPLAINTS. Complaint 20/25. & 30 H.P. Bentley. Rear brake actuating shafts binding. D.O. finished scheme GL.{G. Linnett}833 for Bentley on the 2.9.36. Instructed 7/9/36. Expt. Dept. Not as yet completed for test. D.O. scheme for 20/25 and 30 H.P. not as yet issued. Expt. scheme being tried in France. Complaint 25/30 H.P. Exhaust suspension rattle from Tail pipe Modifications made and put in production 11/8/36. Complaints, failure of P.II. front silencers and 25 H.P. rear. The position of P.II. front silencers is in abeyance. As many as 10 modifications I am informed were made to the front silencers. This means that for the Expt. Dept. to make a silencer for test on an owner's car would be very difficult as the series, and particulars, would first have to be obtained. The position with regard to the 20-25.H.P. is different, and three rear silencers with the shells treated by the Webb anti-rust process have been made and despatched to Cricklewood on the 10/10/36. One of these has been fitted to GLC.23 at a mileage of 12,123 Nov.2nd.1936. This will be kept under observation. Complaint 25/30. Exhaust manifold breaking of lug. This was reported on the 8/9/36. A malleable iron manifold for test was ordered on the 5/10/36 but 7 weeks is required by the manufacturers for delivery. Complaint. Marles steering. 25/30 H.P. Failure of end plate cover where adaption for continued | ||
