X.5780. 10,000 MILE TEST CHASSIS 14-G4.

Will you kindly note the following list of items for 10,000 mile test chassis 14-G4. in which details are given of the position of the various items. It is understood that this car is to go out this week. Naturally we are anxious to get on the car all the items detailed below.

Battery and Instrument Section.

Ammeter. Ferranti, flange type. This is already on.
Battery. 20 HP. P & R.{Sir Henry Royce} type TBD.7-E incorporating
(1) Recently approved new type moulded lid{A. J. Lidsey} with rubber terminal gland joint.
(2) Recently proposed new type vent plugs.
The test being largely on the combination of burnt up cell to cell connections in conjunction with the new type moulded lid{A. J. Lidsey} and gland joint.
This battery is at present on order, and is being urged.

Speedometer. C.561. 740. Critically tested in laboratory.

Ignition Section.

Ignition coil L.I.7. wound on tubes with parallel secondary winding. This is awaiting our test but will shortly be ready.

1 1/2 value ballast resistance. This is already on.

Modified contact point arm. This will be fitted by Mr.Brock if you will send the distributor round to him. It is a slight alteration on production to give a better depth of thread for the contact point screw.
