4f. Power check with new R.R.-Bosch
nozzle (ball race steel). Power
94.8 lbs/sq.in. Sp.{Mr Spinney}cons. .489 lbs.

4g. Power check with standard Bosch Power identical with
nozzle with holes cleaned out. that obtained with
Power 95.6 lbs/sq.in. B.M.E.P. redrilled Bosch
Sp.{Mr Spinney} Cons. .477 lbs. nozzle. Test 4e.

4h. Motoring losses measured over Curve plotted in
speed range 2100 - 1000 RPM. Fig.20.

4i. Standard R.R-Bosch nozzle in
S/ENGR. checked. Power 86.8
lbs/sq.in. B.M.E.P.
Sp.{Mr Spinney}cons. .530 lbs/BHP/Hr.

4j. Above nozzle redrilled with .010" This test shows
drill. Power 93.3 lbs/sq.in. effect of carbon in
Sp.{Mr Spinney} Cons. .496 lbs. nozzle holes.

4k. R.R-Bosch nozzle 8 holes, Since reduction in
.0115" dia., .025" long x 140° hole diameter by
Power 92.7 lbs/sq.in. carbon caused drop
Sp.{Mr Spinney} Cons. .506 lbs. in power, it was
thought that larger
hole might give
