X1109 X.2494. NOTES FROM CUTLER HAMMER CO's PAMPHLET X.1109. ON THERMOPLAX AND PYROPLAX.10.8.21. THERMOPLAX. Cold-moulded under extremely high pressure. Withstand 600°F (= 315°C) and -30°F (= -34oC) Water-proof, resists atmosphere. Dielectric strength 70 - 110 volts/mil Moulding limits .005" - .010". Maximum voltage in practice 600. PYROPLAX. Cold-moulded under very high pressure. Withstand 1100°F - 1400oF (= 593oC to 760°C) Non-deteriorating. Dielectric strength 60 volts/mil Two grades, white and brown. White for high temperatures. Brown, impregnated, waterproof Moulding limits .005" - .010" Inorganic binder and filler. MANUFACTURE. Dies, solid tool steel, hardened and ground. Definite amount poured in and compressed 15 - 250 tons. Slowly heated, or cured. Buffed if necessary. GENERAL+ Dies furnished at cost, maintained free. | ||
