-3- Ha/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}12/RT.26.10.33. 4 LITRE DELAGE. This car has about the same performance as the Bentley but without any refinement. The carburetter is noisy, the exhaust system is noisy, the gearbox is noisy and awkward to handle, and the suspension is most uncomfortable, the road holding is moderate. It does not compete seriously with the Bentley. 12 CYLINDER HISPANO. The interest in this car centres solely in the power unit, the rest of the automobile is not very up to date. The unit is exceedingly smooth and in the short chassis gives the best acceleration we have ever experienced on a quality car. It is a peculiar fact that they still have a crankshaft period which we noticed on this unit when it was first introduced three years ago. Mr. finds that this car definitely competes with the continental Phantom having better acceleration and top speed. Ha/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
