Bentley / Mr Barrington} c. to EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Ck{Mr Clark}6/T26.2.20. X.3792 - LUCAS BATTERY INDICATOR. X975 Further to our Ck{Mr Clark}3/T9.2.20, we are now sending you under separate cover a Lucas battery indicator with short length of flex and two-pin plug for insertion in the socket provided on the Lucas switchbox. It is suggested that such an instrument might be supplied with the kit, or at any rate, that we should recommend in the Instruction Book that this instrument be obtained from Messrs. Lucas independently. Would you kindly let us have your opinion upon this. We have made enquiries of Messrs. Lucas regarding the idea of making the two-pins of different diameters to prevent the plug being put in the wrong way round, and they have pointed out that this plug itself is only capable of being put in one way, owing to the way in which it would foul one of the switches in the other direction. They, therefore, suggest that it is not necessary to alter the pin diameters although they say that they will do this if we so desire. Would you kindly also give us your opinion on this point.
