We have experienced trouble with a bottom tappet seizing and found that no oil was discharged down the push rod side on one or two push rods. We think it will be necessary to drill an oil hole in the rocker shaft opposite the push rod end of the rocker to increase the oil discharge in this direction.

The weight of the 'SS{S. Smith}' engine less gearbox, exhaust pipes, controls and fan is 746 lbs. We are weighing the gearbox and will supply a complete comparison between this and the present production Phantom.

We are continuing tests on the engine and will submit a fuller report as soon as possible.
