to WT. from Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Cw. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} copy to Mr. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} X7600 ORIGINAL EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/25.2.29. REAR WHEEL CARRIER FOR CLOSE COUPLED COUPE. We send herewith N.Sch.2839. showing a wheel carrier for use with close coupled four seater bodies, when built on the existing 90.ins. wheel base chassis. We understand that Sales are contemplating building a body of this type for use in London, and we agree with them that, to fit the present standard wheel carrier, would leave no luggage accommodation and spoil the appearance of the car. We are sending a print of the enclosed scheme to Mr.Royce for his approval, which we think should be obtained before any detailing is commenced. Following up his suggestion that we should be prepared to meet the reasonable demands of our customers without of necessity having to make them expensive special fittings in each case, we are proposing to him that we shew somewhere on our chassis prints an illustration of this carrier which we can state will be available is ordered with the chassis. To Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} Would you kindly have two prints taken from this drawing, retaining one for yourself and returning one to us. The original, together with letters to Derby people, we would be glad if you would post on. We are sorry to trouble you to do this but we have not rapid printing facilities here. | ||
