Warning about potential dynamo damage when the car battery is run down or disconnected.

If the battery is run down to an extent when it is not capable of operating the starter motor, there is invariably sufficient current in it to operate the battery ignition to enable the car to be started by hand.

If the battery be disconnected or taken off for some reason or other there is risk of serious damage to the dynamo if the terminals are not disconnected. The notice to the effect that damage can occur is on the dynamo and need not necessarily be seen by anyone disconnecting the battery terminals.
