Thank you for your various notes. We are not worried about the speeds you give us being low, we think the temperature under the bonnet may have some effect on the results, also possibly the air silencer of the carburetter. Again, we do not run our tests with a petrol pump but with two S.U. Petrolifts.

We are much happier when you give us lower speeds than we get here because we have been to endless trouble to get the results out of 22-EX. and we know where the two cars differ. We can take them both down to Brooklands when you get back and confirm results.

We have got a J.1 unit running in 19-G4. which will be going across to France in a weeks time with Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} It is a remarkably good car and we should say the performance is rather better than the Standard Continental Type P.2.

We got up Ticknall in 54 secs. and did 80 M.P.H. down Shardlow. It may be the next car that you will run at Chateauroux.

Neither Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} or myself will be at the Works until the 8th. August but we shall hope to see you then.
