TRANSPORT - DERBY.

We are in the habit of lending Experimental cars to the Transport Department at Derby, when they are short of presentable vehicles.

Owing to their lack of personnel, these cars are often returned to us in such a condition that they require considerable time spending on them to make them reasonably road-worthy.

Also, little or no records are kept of brake adjustments and other work carried out, thus spoiling our Experimental log-books.

We suggest that man-hours are actually lost by not attending to normal running adjustments when required.

We understand that the Transport Department have some sixteen vehicles to look after and that the Staff consists of one man, who is frequently on outside work.

In the interests of economy, is it not desirable to increase the personnel dealing with the Transport.
