NOTES ON A DISCUSSION HELD ON 2.6.40. re MYTH.
The following basic dimensions for Myth were fixed at a discussion held at the Clan Foundry on 2.6.40. at which Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}; Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/EAG; Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RCG and Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} were present :
Steering Wheel to back of Rear Squab. = 61 inches.
Inside width of Body. = 48 inches.
Rear Seat headroom. = 36 free. 38 compressed
Steering Wheel Diameter = 17 inches.
Maximum amount of tumble home compatible with other considerations.
A fixed windscreen. This was considered to be permissable owing to the fact that we would be providing a defroster and demister.
Luggage Compartment. To have a folding down lid{A. J. Lidsey} with continuous luggage platform and separate door for spare wheel.
No draught ventilation to be provided. + scuttle ventilation.
Door hingeing. If the saloon is not pillarless the front door hinges on the centre pillar, rear door hinges on the rear pillar.
PILLARLESS SALOON.
It was agreed that a pillarless saloon should be considered in parallel with the normal type saloon and when the investigations had reached a sufficiently advanced stage a decision should be taken as to whether this should be the ultimate form which the body would take.
