R.R. 348a (100 H) (W 387. 4.4.11) E.P. 8817. DEPARTMENTAL MEMO. Issued 19th June 1911 This column is for Name of Person addressed. Mr Barrington DATE. 19/6/11 x788 R9/D19611 For some data on the rating of engines that I want to compile for the B.A.Meeting, I have thought of several experiments which I want you and Mr Platford to endeavour to get made at once. 1. Removal of the Knave engine so that it can be run on dynamo brake and have two proper magnetos so as to give it the best ignition. The Mea magneto would be the best for the purpose. Make the compression and valve setting approximately like the standard engine. This experiment has for its object the use of big valves for large powers at high speed, showing their small value when the engine is run under ordinary road conditions. This sheet must be filed with the correspondence to which it refers. R | ||
