To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} file lamps. SECRET. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}3/JH.27.3.41. re Headlamps for Myth. With reference to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}13/ML.24.3.41. and the attached copy of a letter from Messrs. Joseph Lucas Ltd., ref. OL/JAP.20.3.41. we would state that it was our original intension that the lamp outer shell should be a fixture on the wing or cat walk so placed that the lamp faces should lie in a vertical plane relative to the ground. The adjustment of the beams would be effected by a setting of the reflector which should be carried out as on the lamps for the Corniche. This lamp had a reflector in which the adjustment consisted of a 3-point mounting, each point having a screw adjustment. Such a system of adjustment has to be used where the lamp body is wholly or in part a portion of the wing or cat walk. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
