We have received your memo re. the gallery pipe fitted to the bottom half sent out. We have been held up owing to the snow and icy conditions of the roads, so we tackled our bottom half before receiving the one from Derby. We led our gallery pipe on the outside and fed into the three compartments with ordinary unions. The spray we did not attempt to make. We have altered the feed to the oil pump. We stopped up the feed hole to the filter in the rear compartment and drilled a fresh inlet hole in the center compartment. We are therefore taking our oil supply from the center compartement. This gives a better chance for the oil to be circulated at the same time keeping the three compartments practically with the same quantity of oil, so far this scheme seems good, but the road conditions as yet are all against getting any reliable results. The bottom half sent out, as we have reported is of no use until we have altered the supply to the gallery, at present it comes out and fouls the cross steering tube. We shall as soon as the roads permit get comparative results with the two bottom halfs. We fitted the needle with the tapers .124/.074 and as far as acceleration etc. it is giving equally as good results as the needle taken out. Consumption will be taken later. We note your remarks
