Huckerby} 5th September 1938. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited, DERBY. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. C.S. Steadman. We are duly in receipt of your letter of the 2nd inst. and have noted your remarks in regard to the test just completed on a standard HaDees Heater. We do not think it will be necessary for you to repeat this test for the writer as we are quite prepared to abide by your decision in regard to the degree of noise. We can only conclude that the standard by which these Heaters are judged must be in your case naturally more severe than in the average car and it is for this reason that we have not received a complaint in regard to noise. We appreciate the importance of this matter from your point of view and would like to help you to the best of our ability. Your suggestion of fitting the motor remote seems to be the most feasible solution to the problem and with this object in view we shall be pleased to let you have the necessary equipment for test purposes, but unfortunately the British made product will not be available until after the Motor Show. In the circumstances, therefore, might we suggest that we modify a standard American HaDees Heater for remote motor to enable you to conduct tests. The only difference would be that the unit is larger than its British made equivalent. We could get this ready for you in about a week's time. To avoid delay all envelopes should be addressed to the firm. | ||
