ROLLS-ROYCE BREWSTER COACHWORK ROLLS-ROYCE WORKS SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS LONDON AND DERBY, ENGLAND BREWSTER & CO. LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y. EXECUTIVE OFFICES QUEENSBORO PLAZA LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y. March 17, 1930 Mr. Maurice Olley Rolls-Royce, Ltd. Derby, England Dear Olley: I am inclosing herewith particulars of the Godward Gas Generator, or Fuel Vaporizer, that I ran into the other day. I do not know whether you have particulars of this, but some of the results appear to be quite astounding; and the Mitten Management who operate the Philadelphia buses have adopted them and I understand are saving about $50 a bus in fuel consumption per month. The United States Government have also adopted them for all trucks and specify that this outfit must be applied on all classes of vehicles for the Army. I thought it might be something that we would like to investigate, as the ultimate requirement seems to involve a definite fixed gas which is dry before entering the cylinders, in order to provide accurate distribution and quick combustion. Anyhow, I am sending the papers over for you to do what you think desirable with. Yours faithfully, B. W. Ainsworth Assistant Vice-President BWA/B Inclosure | ||
