H.R. 968a (100) (T) (S.G.0) 10-2-20 2618/1920 [Stamped] By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from WG{Mr Gill - Financial Director} c. to EFC. c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to Ms. RECEIVED. X 3074 G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}5/NJ13.10.20. X 3074 G Lucas Dynamo. E.575. I confirm mine Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}2/NJ11.10.20 and acknowledge yours By6/P12.10.20. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} has afforded me the opportunity of perusing his note Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}8/CB29.3.20 to R.{Sir Henry Royce} (copies to Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}, Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and EFC) and I find that said note states definitely that the Lucas Co. would make the end frame, which was then cast iron, of aluminium and further states that the dies for the aluminium end frame were already in hand. I do not appear to have had any notice of this alteration and I gather from your note By6/P12.10.20 that you have had no notice of it. As the Lucas Elect. Co. are now reverting to the cast iron end frame, you will probably consider it necessary to inform R.{Sir Henry Royce} of the fact, so that he is not under any misapprehension.
