Herewith we send prints of N. schs. 3203/4/5., unfinished drawings of the suggested rear axle and brakes.

The stress in the axle shafts has been made the same as on P. 2. This has necessitated the shafts being increased from 1.073 to 1.250 in dia., resulting in the next size ball bearings being required for the hub, and therefore an increased dia. of axle tube at the hub.

The suggestion is that the opportunity should be taken of these apparently necessary modifications to increase the track to 57" which keeps the hubs still within the front hubs.

Derby have criticised the 25HP. rear brakes on the ground of cost. They are a much older design than P. 2. we have indicated in pencil on the prints what are the suggested economies we have endeavoured to use the same pieces as many times as possible increase the quantities.

We suggest that the brakes can be pushed further out, improving the body space.

We had hoped to also despatch the hypoid centre casing but it is not quite ready. it will follow on monday or Tuesday.
