S/W. (Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}) 1872. RECEIVED JUN 16 Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}4/D15.6.31. Re: Lightened Flywheel. Referring to Standardisation Sheet No. X.872, I raised the point in regard to this with Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} and from his reply he says he has consulted with you and that whilst the Lightened Flywheel has run 10,000 mile test, it does not warrant our introducing it, and therefore the cost of £475 for jigs and tools will not be incurred. Such being the case, I do not quite understand what is the purpose of the Standardisation Sheet. What I want to make sure of is that if I sign it someone does not later on decide to introduce it without the knowledge that in view of alterations to design, it might not at that date be worth spending the money involved in new jigs and tools.
