Non-standardisation and issues with cadmium plating on springs.

X1360 / X8410 With reference to PN{Mr Northey}3/WT22.9.28. We see nothing in our memo. which indicates that plated springs have been standardised. Cadmium plating has not been standardised. We believe the main trouble with our springs is due to digging in. Cadmium plating does not prevent this as the deposit is quite soft. We are therefore aiming at an improvement in spring design. Mr. Royce is not altogether in favour of cadmium plating as it is rather an expensive process.
