MAIN BATTERY LEAD.

You will remember Waller got into trouble through his battery lead being exposed in France.

Early this week, Lappin who was driving 12.B.V., nearly had the car on fire for the same reason, i.e. the main battery lead shorted to the frame.

It is obviously very bad policy to have a vulnerable article like a battery lead placed in the lowest part of the car in the centre of the frame, as it will inevitably get bumped.

Fortunately, an alternative position was schemed before the War and we should like you to look it over and if you can see no disabilities, get some details made right away which can be applied to every car.

Attached is a copy of a report from Childs on the incident.
