Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} STEERING R is anxious that we should complete the experiments we have in hand with regard to the steering pivots. He is interested in the pivots giving "s" more out of centre point and also in the pivots having the king pin centre set forward from the wheel. [Diagram showing a steering pivot] POINT OF TYRE CONTACT DIRECTION OF CAR MOTION We think the advantage of these is that the wheels actually try to regain the central position when braking on a corner. Also a means of obtaining directional stability without making the steering heavy for shunting. over | ||
