RE DUNLOP SPANNER. X.890 The spanner as arranged by Dunlops for the detachable wire wheels is defective in two parts. The junction between the main ring and the handle is weak. If one hammered the spanner sufficiently it would distort at this point. This could be very easily materially improved by adding a radius and possibly altering the handle to an H section. The other point where the spanner is defective, is the portion intended to push out the lock, has a limited stroke. This seems necessary, but in the one I have, the stroke is too short. It may be possible that the spanner has been strained, and the cross bar bent, but the matter requires careful consideration. The bridge piece carrying this unlocking device could be much more rigid. The unlocking device on the spanner might be somewhat modified - suggestions will be sent later. Anyway, the spanners should only be made in limited numbers until it can be improved.
