The actual radius need not be to an exact dimension but we must be careful to avoid square corners, and "digging in" of turning tools.

There are other points about this tube which are manifest on reference to Lec.566, such as the extra thickness under the inner ball bearing of the road wheel.

(2) BEVEL GEAR. X.3457. X.1808

Referring to the bevel gear of the back axle, this was intended as soon as possible, to be cut in the curved form by the Gleason machine, resulting in an approximately spiral gear. This is an important feature which should be included as soon as convenient.

Mr. Wormald will decide this as we expect it will be necessary for us to obtain machines of our own, and not be dependent upon sending the wheels out to be cut.

It will have such wonderful effect on reducing the uneven turning due to the excessive curvature of the teeth, which was found necessary to obtain quiet gears.

(3) TRANSMISSION. X.3455.

There is about the transmission, some extra bearings and sleeves to be removed so as to make the unsprung weight of the back axle less.

(4) BRAKES. X.3458. X 3495. X 3497

Regarding the brakes, the foot brake was arranged to be fitted with ferodo liners. We think also it will be safe
