Hancock - Head Chateauroux}5/N.27.10.37. Re: Bentley Rear Axle. Re GB.2035 thrust bearing for Bentley Rear Axle. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} sent out a memo Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}3/R.13.9.37. which called for a Depot Sheet. This has not been issued. The memo deals with the preloading of the bearing and to obtain a reliable job it was suggested that the Works stock be returned to R.{Sir Henry Royce} & M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} for the modification. It does not appear from the recent thrust races sent to K.{Mr Kilner} that this modification has been carried out. We are returning five out of ten sent here for your inspection as there is no preload on these bearings. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} | ||
