X4305 EAN/EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c. to Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} /Thn6/H2.8.22 Re. Carburation. ------------ We have received your memo Br2/H27.7.22 re the above, which we have also passed through to the Experimental Dept. We are afraid we are not in a position at the moment to give you any useful information on this point beyond what you already know regarding the usual attention to the engine to obtain the best carburation. Presumably modification to the throttle as per Sheet No.173 has already been carried out in the instance referred to by you. We may say that this matter is at present receiving attention with a view to getting out some scheme to prevent this trouble on the lines of the 'Hot Spot' scheme, which is at present being fitted experimentally. Mr. Platford is at the moment giving this matter his careful attention whilst in America, and we understand that the American Factory are at present fitting a Vaporisation scheme. Meantime it is important that where the carburation is inclined to be unsatisfactory special care should be taken to obtain the best petrol. We have no method of filling up the recess as suggested by you. EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} /Thn. Mr. Hives. This is further to our EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} /Thn10/H26.7.22. and we attach hereto copy of Br's memo on this matter. EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} /Thn.
