SPRINGING CHARACTERISTICS 40/50 RR. FRONT AXLE. REAR AXLE. SPRUNG WT. COMPLETE CAR. 2053. 2327. UNSPRUNG WT. 407. 687. The front spring rating varies from 500 lbs/1" to 245 lbs/1". The rear spring rating varies from 210 lbs/1" to 125 lbs/1". The wide variation in the rating of the springs fitted is accounted for by the fact that individual customers receive special treatment and cars are sprung between the two extremes of town carriages and continental speed cars.
