1332. DUNLOP RUBBER CO.,LTD. TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: "DUNLOPS, PHONE, BIRMINGHAM" TELEPHONE: ERDINGTON 2121 (P.B.X.) EXTENSION No. 395. YOUR REF: OUR REF: HEP/WS.1385.C. Manager, Car Manfrs.Divn. FORT DUNLOP ERDINGTON BIRMINGHAM 24 Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. For the attention of S.H.Grylls, Esq. Handwritten: GR{George Ratcliffe} Are there any ford 14th July, 1939. Dear Sirs, In confirming our telephone conversation yesterday afternoon, we would advise you that the 4, 6.50-19 and 5.50-18 track racing tyres have been despatched to Brooklands track, and if you care to arrange for your representative to contact with our Depot at the track the tyres will be available on Monday morning. As explained, it is not possible to have the 6, 6.50-16 tyres ready by Monday but the Factory have promised that these tyres should be completed on Monday afternoon, and we will make immediate arrangements for their despatch to Brooklands so that unless any unforeseen circumstances arise they will be available on Tuesday morning. With regard to the difficulty which you have experienced in fitting the special racing tubes on the standard 4.50x16 rim, we are enclosing with this letter half a dozen special rim nut bushings which will replace those at present fitted and will be suitable for the straight drilled valve hole. Arrangements have been made for the six further tubes of this size to be suitably fitted before they are despatched from Fort Dunlop. We are able to confirm that the bushings on the 6.50-19 and 5.50-18 tubes are correct and will be suitable for the rims which are to be used. Yours faithfully, For DUNLOP RUBBER CO., LTD. | ||
