Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}.....from Bt.{Capt. J. S. Burt - Engineer} Bt{Capt. J. S. Burt - Engineer}3/MW7234. 7th February, 1934. Dear Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}, I remember that you had a terra-plane to test on one occasion and wrote that you did not care for it. I could not help remembering this yesterday, when I heard from my brother some of the experiences which a Mr. Simmonds, who is a friend of his, had in the Monte Carlo Rally. Mr. Simmonds, who was starting from Athens, had taken the precaution to go over the route beforehand and on this occasion he completed it somewhere near schedule. In the actual contest, however, the car more or less disintegrated and so far as I can make out, with the exception of the engine, the only parts which did not break were those that fell off. Bentley I am rather expecting to be/coming up to the Works, perhaps during next week, when amongst other things I hope to get a run on my brother's/chassis, B171-AE, which is now on test, and will look in then and have a chat if I may. Yours ever, Stewart Bamk. | ||
