If the field circuit is opened, all is dead on the Smith dynamo. This is not the case with the Lucas, as it excites on the control winding.

Complete protection of the dynamo in case of cut-out failure (and charging switch left on) requires one fuse less for the Smith than for the Lucas.

Messrs. Smith have in hand for us a machine upon which they are putting a much more excellent finish. We expect to receive this within the next fortnight. Such a machine should be considered for chassis after the first 500.
