Rolls Royce Limited., DERBY. Our Ref: 4/EH/R 21st September, 1921. Dear Sirs, MERCURY VAPOUR RECTIFIERS. In addition to the Rectifiers we have been manufacturing for years we beg to advise you that we are now making Rectifiers having a much larger capacity, these units being capable of a D.C. output of 100 or 150 amperes from single bulbs. This type of Rectifier is designed for parallel operation and practically any output can without difficulty be arranged for. The standard sizes we now supply are as follows:- 5; 10; 20; 40; 60; 80; 100 and 150 amperes, for connection to either single or three phase supplies. The large Sets are particularly suitable for small sub-stations owing to the fact that there are no moving parts and consequently the attention that is required is very slight; the maintenance items are in fact practically negligible. The efficiency is high and is constant from a quarter to full load and the price is lower than that of Rotary Machines for a similar output. In the case of sets designed for charging Accumulators, it is interesting to note that the charge is entirely automatic, that is to say, that by the simple action of closing one switch, the apparatus immediately starts up and continues to function until the Accumulators are completely charged.
