Chef de Service de l'Aeronautique,
Ministere de la{L. A. Archer} Defense Nationale,

Belgium.

Dear Sir,

With reference to our letter to you of the 28th October (ref: F9/JL281033), we learn from our Works that it is possible we have not quite understood the purpose of your letter of the 25th October No.B.B./622. We now understand that you have found, when changing fuels, that the r.p.m. and the boost pressure at the same gate setting have not remained the same, and that you desire us to inform you whether it will be necessary to reset the gate so as to obtain the specified boost pressure when you use fuel to D.T.D. 224. While we do not expect such variation to exist, if in actual fact it does this must be due to the very poor quality of fuel which was in some cases being used.

When D.T.D. 224 fuel has been standardized it would therefore be as well to check over the settings and ensure that the engines are operating in accordance with the homologated conditions.

Yours faithfully,
for ROLLS-ROYCE, LIMITED.

L. F R.{Sir Henry Royce} Fell
(Lieutenant-Colonel)
