X6088 25.2.32 SEQUENCE STARTER. K.6048. COMBINED MAIN SWITCH & AUXILIARY SWITCH UNIT. X6088 / C.7751 sm. SPECIFICATION OF PRODUCTION INSPECTION & TEST. I. GENERAL INSPECTION. (1) Ascertain that the copper laminated contacts of the main switch unit offer a satisfactory bedding in correct sequence on the copper contact plate of the main switch pillar. With a .045" non-magnetic distance piece between the core and the armature stop, the application of sufficient voltage to the coil to cause this distance piece to be held fast should result in the first laminated copper contact to make being just in contact with the copper contact plate. (2) Ascertain that the copper flexible connections on the main and auxiliary switches shew no signs of fraying. (3) Examine also the carbon contacts of the main switch unit for correct surface bedding, when the switch is depressed by a force applied to the main lever (armature). It should also be ascertained that the carbons are not cracked or chipped through tightening the securing clamp. (4) Ascertain that the cylindrical surfaced contacts on the auxiliary switch (both upper set and lower set) are making correct line contact centrally. (5) It should be verified particularly that all screws upon which electrical contacts depend are thoroughly tight. contd. | ||
