R.R. 250 10M 7/18(P) 576. 10-3-19(C) C1 9224 COPY. Your Ref, WD{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}/WP16.HP 261 20. Our Ref. HCT/EAC. 12th February. 1920. Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, DERBY. Dear Sirs., With reference to your condenser order, we are sending under separate cover tonight two complete, with brass parts, in accordance with your drawings. We shall be glad if you will check these as regards fitting into your other parts, because we notice certain discrepancies between your drawings and the samples which you handed to our Mr Turner. Also in order to give the capacity for which you require, it is not possible to determine the thickness of the condenser within limits, and though this might be overcome by thickening up with plain Mica, you will recognise in some cases it would be bad practice, because, the overlapping tin foil would then be thrown out of place, and the holes would not coincide. It is possible therefore to obtain the fundamental dimensions which you require by packing with brass pieces if necessary, or by some other adjustments in the stems. You will notice that one of the condensers supplied is so packed, and we should be glad to hear whether this meets with your approval. Trusting to receive your comments by return so that we can proceed with the delivery. Yours faithfully, SALFORD ELECTRICAL INSTRUMENTS LTD (Sgd) H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Cobden Turner. | ||
