For the attention of Mr. West.
Dear Sirs;
The writer confirms his visit to Derby on Thursday last and the question arose regarding cables being noisy.
Mr. Arrowsmith took this matter up further with Bentley Service and although he stated we have not had any number of cables returned to us with this complaint it appears they are getting a number on cars. It was found, as we have already pointed out, that the bends are very bad and very numerous, and we are wondering, if you are considering modifying this drive whether it would be possible not only to do away with the bends, but at the same time keep the cables as much as possible away from the engine as there is a possibility for the heat to penetrate via the cable to the instrument, therefore drying the oil on the rev-clocks. We shall be glad if you will kindly give this your consideration.
Yours faithfully,
pp. A.T. Speedometer Co.Ltd.,
A.G. Arrowsmith
