1280. EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Ed. {J. L. Edwards} 1/JH. 29th. June, 1939. Messrs. John Marston Ltd., WOLVERHAMPTON. For the attention of Mr. Steadman. Dear Sirs, Many thanks for your letter of the 27th. inst. with regard to the shutters, we should be glad if you would produce one set with the roll over at the front as mentioned in our previous correspondence. We will send an official order for this in the course of a post or so. We enclose herewith arrangement drawing of the "Corniche" radiator, and you will notice that the modification mentioned previously consists of the stiffening plate mounted inside the yoke at the head lamp bracket, and fits on loosely in place of washers. As you will notice this does not cause any alteration to the actual structure of the radiator assembly. The necessary R.R. pieces for the "Ripple" radiator are being got together and will follow very shortly. We are sending through a recommendation that the filler ring should be made in brass instead of steel as is at present usual. This we understand makes for considerably easier soldering and also enables a higher quality plating. Official instructions will probably follow in due course. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
