To Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Ev {Ivan Evernden - coachwork} /HP.5/JH.7.10.41. In reply to your Rm. {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 5/h.10.3.41. I agree that buses are reasonably available now that the office has been moved to Clan. Other people who live much nearer to the Works than myself and on a direct'bus route are allowed petrol. My travelling distance is 20 miles/day and I have to make a connection at Derby. I also wish to point out that as there are no 'buses until 10 o'clock on Sundays and I live 3 miles from the 'bus station, Sunday work when necessary will be most difficult. In view of the above, I think it is reasonable to ask for 6 gallons/month (at present 12) and I will use the car overtime nights only, owing to the difficulty of travelling out of Derby during blackout periods and for Sunday work when necessary. My car is a two seater and I regularly have been bringing to the office one member of the staff who is similarly placed - D. {John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Kightley. H.Peak. Check No.5761. | ||
