Chassis 38-MY. Referring to PN.{Mr Northey}5/WT.15.9.33 regarding the above customer. We do not see that the fitting of an additional battery will help this customer appreciably as obviously he would require to have special charging arrangements to keep this additional battery charged up. We recommend that in this particular case we could offer to exchange his battery and dynamo system at extra cost for a larger capacity battery (not necessarily larger in size dimensionally) and a constant voltage control dynamo system such as we have recently standardised on the Bensport and now on the Phantom Chassis. The battery would be a special battery having much better starting characteristics by the use of thinner plates and the new dynamo system would give him very much increased charge, which is what he requires, when the batter was in a discharged condition.
