Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd.,
D E R B Y.
Dear Sirs,
For the attention of Mr. Ratcliff.
In reference to the conversation which we had yesterday, we believe the float chambers fitted to Mr.Hall's Bentley are the type known as our No. T.4. With these we have used a number of different seatings, the smallest of which is 5/32" and with these seatings the float chambers should prove satisfactory for pressure up to 3-lbs.
We have, on occasions, used 1/4" seatings on racing jobs, for use in conjunction with pressure feed systems of up to 4-lbs and these have proved satisfactory.
It therefore seems likely that there is some other cause for the difficulty, other than the diameter of the seating. Possibly the seatings themselves are damaged.
We shall, if you wish, be pleased to make up some smaller seatings, or supply you with replacements of the 5/32" size. We were originally going to send you a pair of these, but in view of a letter from your Company dated the 29th ultimo, signed by Mr.Royce, we are unable to do so unless you will let us have an order number. Will you kindly, therefore, give us your official instructions as to whether we are to supply
CONT'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}
