from the "pinking" they are all using considerably higher
compression ratios than we are, but there is no sign of
increased engine roughness.

Their silent thirds are good and when a higher
direct drive ratio is incorporated with them as on the
GRAHAM PAIGE the absence of fuss, increase in smoothness, good
fuel consumption etc. at once becomes noticeable after the
prevailing low gear fashion. We think that the GRAHAM PAIGE
car is particularly worthy of attention as having the best
6 cylinder engine we have tried, and an exceptionally silent
third with a reasonably easy change from 2nd. to 3rd. and
3rd. to top. The Weymann body undoubtedly contributed to
the good impression.

The other features on the cars, steering, braces,
clutches, and suspension, shew little improvement in design
during the last few years and are undoubtedly inferior to our
own practice.
