Handwritten: X.3916 At Mr. Royce's suggestion we have despatched to Conduit Street one American Bosch Starter Motor. This Starter Motor was sent to us by R.R. Inc. Mr. Royce wished that Conduit Street should examine this Starter Motor as an example of a really bad unit. The design is bad, the finish and workmanship are bad. It is interesting to note that the parent Bosch Company hold the very highest reputation as regards all the products they turn out. Their Magneto, Dynamo and Starter are most excellent. It was no doubt because of their wonderful reputation that they started a Factory in America. One sees in the latest product of American Bosch Factory that they have lost all the ideals of the parent firm as regards producing a first-class article. They have become Americanized and are producing articles which are worthless. After seeing the examples of Bosch Starter Motors and Dynamos which are turned out by the Bosch Company at Springfield, we feel very dubious whether the magnetos they make could ever be relied upon. We do not think the Bosch Company of America can be trusted to turn out a consistently good job. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
