re 20/25 HP Chassis.

I attach copy of memo. received from Sr. from which you will see he is saying that the 20/25 with the new type carburetter is down on performance compared with the former type.

There is a very strong complaint from Mr.Poberejsky about it and he is wanting to send his car back to Derby.

The question of lower gear has been raised and I asked C., therefore, to speak to you about it on the telephone, and I understand that you will arrange for Hancock to call at Paris and go into the matter with them, when he goes over in a few days. I should like to know how soon this will be.

I attach copy of letter written to Sr. from which you will see that we have been able to make comparative tests between his Trials car, GAE-5 and the former type and find that the former is not down on performance.

On the question of lower gear I should be glad to know whether there is one available - by this I mean tested and passed. In other words, how soon could one be available for a customer in a special case where more importance is attached to acceleration than maximum speed.

But at the same time I do not understand why there should be any need for a low geared axle with these latest chassis, bearing in mind the fact that the HP is said to be about 5 HP more with the new type carburetter.
