X.3770. - LUCAS CUT-OUT. Since issuing our report Ck{Mr Clark}2/T16.3.20, we have had occasion to arrange specifications of inspection and test for the Lucas dynamos and Lucas switchboxes now being purchased by us. For this purpose we had on loan from the Stores, six dynamos and six switchboxes and we have taken advantage of this to finally complete our investigations of the operation of this dynamo and cut-out. For the dynamo we specified that for both cold and hot conditions at given temperatures and speeds, the open circuit voltages shall exceed given figures. Further, that after running at a given speed on approximately maximum load for a given time, the out-put shall exceed a certain number of amperes. Without, however, burdening you with the details of this specification, we attach copy of a table A of results obtained on these six dynamos in running through the specification on each machine, with a view to determining the suitability. We have passed all these dynamos with the exception of R:1293 which for some reason is low in open Contd. | ||
