SHUNT DYNAMO FOR 40/50 VOLTAGE CONTROL. DYNAMO CHARGE SYSTEM. In connection with the proposal to standardise on the 40/50 chassis a Rolls-Royce shunt dynamo running in conjunction with a C.A.V. voltage regulator, we should be glad if you will arrange for a new 40/50 dynamo to be instructed with the necessary alterations such as :- (a) Concentric poles. (b) Modified field winding, particulars of which we can hand to By/RD later. (c) Altered main brush position. The dynamo on 19-EX was one which we modified ourselves but was not complete electrically in that the brushes were not in their correct setting and a better performance could probably be obtained by a modified field winding. We are continuing experiments on a shunt dynamo with a view to obtaining the correct brush position and the correct gauge and number of turns of main field so that we can give these particulars as soon as possible to By/RD.
