D E R B Y. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. Dixon. We are in receipt of your letter of the 23rd inst. To deal with the high lift pumps first of all, the one you brought back recently has been dealt with as you requested, that is it has been fitted with chromium plated brass rollers, all other parts being left as they were originally. These rollers are now slightly over our top limit. They were originally dead on the bottom limit, the chromium plating has increased the diameter by 1 1/2 thou. bringing them 1/2 a thou. up on the top limit. There is however, sufficient working clearance on the pump. Three more high pressure pumps have been built; these are fitted with standard brass rollers, but with the armatures reduced in diameter 5 thou. These four pumps are at the present moment in our Stores waiting to go on the next delivery to you. This leaves us with one high pressure, the one which we originally sent to you and which you brought back to us. This is now going to be brought up to the same standard as the three other pumps and will be sent on to you. As regards the silence pumps, we have not got very far with these at the moment. We have so far however, found that we cannot rely on getting the pump to work on -1- | ||
